In 2018, Daniel Dewar and Grégory Gicquel, who have collaborated since 1997, carried out their second residency at Atelier Pierre Culot, this time with British ceramicist Richard Dewar, based in France. Their practice engages physically with materials such as wood, metal, and stoneware, revisiting traditional techniques while creating humorous and complex forms.

The residency resulted in green and brown glazes, enamelled tiles, and utilitarian objects (cups, pitchers, bottles) whose functions shift in dialogue with the viewer, as well as unexpected pieces such as pipes and flutes. Central to their approach is the transmission of know-how and a deep understanding of craft processes.

Richard Dewar, born in 1948 and trained at Bath Academy of Art, has dedicated his career to ceramics, emphasizing autonomy and individuality of form. Together, the three artists combined tradition, experimentation, and play with the history of pottery.
